The Background

Tim’s Teapot Terrace made a bold move: it launched a brand-new breakfast menu and pulled its opening hours forward by two hours, from 10am–7pm to 8am–7pm. For any café, a change like this is a real investment. Earlier shifts, more prep, and a whole new menu to introduce to regulars and newcomers alike.

The opportunity was clear. Breakfast is a daily habit, and a café that becomes part of someone’s morning routine earns a loyal customer. The question was how quickly people would find out.

The Challenge

Two weeks after the early opening, the morning crowd hadn’t materialised the way the team had hoped. Traction was slow and breakfast covers were low.

The team’s first instinct was a common one: maybe our content just isn’t attractive enough. They reached out to MRVS Media to understand what was holding the launch back and how to move the needle.

What We Found: It Wasn’t the Quality, It Was the Quantity

When we reviewed Tim’s social channels, the content itself wasn’t the problem. The visuals were appealing and the menu looked genuinely good.

The real issue was frequency. Since the breakfast launch, the menu had only been promoted twice. In a feed where people scroll past hundreds of posts a day, two posts simply aren’t enough for a new offering to register, let alone change someone’s morning habits.

This is one of the most common gaps we see with F&B launches. Businesses pour effort into making one or two posts perfect, when awareness is actually built through repetition, variety and presence across the platforms where customers spend their time.

Our Approach

We built a content plan designed to grow awareness among both existing customers and people who had never heard of Tim’s. It rested on three pillars.

1. More Variety, Not Just More Volume

Posting the same style of content over and over only reaches the same kind of viewer. We broadened the content mix so different people had a reason to stop scrolling: menu showcases for the planners, best-seller highlights for the curious, and formats that made the breakfast menu feel easy to say yes to. Each piece kept the spotlight on what Tim’s now offers in the morning.

2. Bringing in the Human Element

People trust people. We partnered with content creators to experience and share Tim’s breakfast in their own voices. Creator content added warmth, authenticity and social proof that brand-owned posts alone can’t deliver, and it introduced Tim’s to audiences beyond its existing followers.

3. Showing Up Where the Conversations Happen

We expanded Tim’s presence beyond Instagram. That meant increasing output on TikTok and launching on Threads. On Threads, we went a step further: actively engaging in high-traffic threads so Tim’s could ride existing conversations and benefit from the platform’s algorithm, rather than waiting for an audience to arrive on its own.

The Results

The shift from occasional posts to a consistent, multi-channel content plan delivered measurable reach:

  • 21,000+ views on Instagram
  • 20,000+ views on TikTok
  • 15,000+ views on Threads

That’s more than 56,000 views across three platforms, putting the new breakfast menu in front of tens of thousands of potential diners.

The Content Behind the Numbers

TikTok: Creator-led breakfast videos and a “Breakfast Spot” feature each pulled in over 5,400 views, introducing Tim’s to audiences well beyond its existing followers.

Threads: A single breakfast post reached 12,800 views, with 349 likes, 60 reposts and 131 shares, plus comments from locals calling Tim’s their favourite spot.

Instagram: A steady stream of Reels, from breakfast spreads to creator visits, consistently drew thousands of views each, with top performers passing 5,000 to 6,600 views.

More importantly, the reach translated into real-world results at the café itself.

In the Owner’s Words

“We’re seeing a lot more people being aware of our new breakfast menu, and a lot more people having breakfast here at Tim’s. Very happy with the result of MRVS. We hope that the momentum continues.”

What’s Next

With awareness building and the morning crowd growing, Tim’s Teapot Terrace is ready to strike while the iron is hot. Next, we’ll be exploring a paid media strategy together to amplify this momentum and promote upcoming offerings, including a coffee cart service and breakfast sets.

Organic content built the foundation. Paid will help scale it.

Key Takeaways for F&B Businesses

  • Launching something new? Talk about it often. One or two posts rarely move behaviour. Consistency builds recall.
  • Vary your formats. Different people respond to different content. Variety widens your reach.
  • Let real people tell your story. Creator content adds trust and reaches audiences you don’t yet have.
  • Go where the conversation is. Platforms like Threads reward brands that participate, not just post.
  • Diagnose before you redesign. Sometimes the content is fine. The strategy around it is what needs work.
